Creamy Tomato Pasta

A pantry-friendly pasta with a silky tomato cream sauce.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted water until al dente; reserve 1 cup pasta water.
  2. Sauté garlic in olive oil for 1 minute.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, and chili flakes; simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in cream and parmesan until smooth.
  5. Add pasta and enough reserved water to loosen the sauce.

Notes

Add spinach at the end for extra greens.
